1 John 5:5-12 - God Has Given Us Eternal Life In The Son

⁵ Now who is it that continues to conquer the world, if it is not the person who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

⁶ He is the One who came through water and blood -- Jesus Christ; not through water only but through water and blood. The Spirit also testifies to this, because the Spirit is truth. ⁷ Omitted Text. ⁸ Because there are three that testify to it, the Spirit, the water, and the blood, and the three agree. ⁹ If we accept the testimony of men, the testimony of God is stronger still; because this is the testimony that God has borne to His Son. ¹⁰ Whoever believes in the Son of God has this testimony in his own heart. Whoever does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has borne to His Son. ¹¹ And this testimony is that God has given us eternal life, and this life is given through union with His Son.

¹² Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son does not have life.
