John 7:25-36 - Is Jesus The Christ?

Therefore some of the Jerusalemites said, Is not this he whom they seek to kill? 26 And lo, he speaks in public, and they say nothing to him. Perhaps the rulers really know that this really is the Christ? 27 However we know this man, where he is from, but when the Christ comes, no man knows where he is from.

Jesus therefore cried out in the temple, teaching and saying, Ye both know me, and know where I am from? And I have not come of myself, but he who sent me is true, whom ye know not. 29 I know him, because I am from him, and he sent me.

They sought therefore to seize him, and yet no man laid a hand on him because his hour had not yet come. 31 But many from the crowd believed in him, and they said, When the Christ comes, will he do more signs than these that this man did?

The Pharisees heard the crowd murmuring these things about him, and the Pharisees and the chief priests sent subordinates so that they might take him.

Jesus therefore said, Yet a little time I am with you, and then I go to him who sent me. 34 Ye will seek me, and will not find me, and where I am, ye cannot come.

The Jews therefore said among themselves, Where is this man going to go that we will not find him? Is he going to go to the Dispersion among the Greeks, and teach the Greeks? 36 What is this word that he said, Ye will seek me, and will not find me, and, Where I am, ye cannot come?
