2 Kings 23:36-2 Kings 24:7 - Jehoiakim Reigns In Judah
36 Jehoiakim was twenty five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned an eleven years in Jerusalem. His mother was named Zebidah the daughter of Pedaiah of Rumah. 37 And he did that was evil-favored in the sight of the LORD, like in all things as did his fathers.
1 In his days came Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and Jehoiakim became his servant three years, and then turned and rebelled against him. 2 And the LORD sent upon him men of war out of Chaldea, out of Syria, out of the Moabites, and from the children of Ammon: and sent them into Judah to destroy it, according to the saying of the LORD which he spake by his servants the Prophets. 3 Only at the bidding of the LORD happened it so to Judah, to put them out of his sight, for the sin of Manasseh according to all he did: 4 and for the innocent blood that he shed and filled Jerusalem with innocent blood, which the LORD would not forgive.
5 The rest of the deeds of Jehoiakim and all he did, are written in the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah. 6 And Jehoiakim laid him to sleep with his fathers, and Jehoiachin his son reigned in his stead.
7 But the king of Egypt came now no more out of his land: for the king of Babylon had taken from the river of Euphrates, all that pertained to the king of Egypt.
