John 16:16-24 - Jesus Predicts His Return To The Disciples

"After a while ye shall not see me, and again after a while ye shall see me: For I go to the father."

Then said some of his disciples between themselves, "What is this that he saith unto us, 'After a while ye shall not see me, and again after a while ye shall see me: and that I go to the father?'" 18 They said therefore, "What is this that he saith, 'After a while?' We cannot tell what he saith."

Jesus perceived that they would ask him, and said unto them, "This is it that ye enquire of between yourselves, that I said, 'After a while ye shall not see me, and again after a while ye shall see me.'

Verily, verily I say unto you, Ye shall weep and lament, and the world shall rejoice. Ye shall sorrow: but your sorrow shall be turned to joy. 21 A woman when she travaileth hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world. 22 And ye now are in sorrow: but I will see you again, and your hearts shall rejoice, and your joy shall no man take from you. 23 "And in that day shall ye ask me no question. Verily, verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the father in my name, he will give it you. 24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name. Ask and ye shall receive it: that our joy may be full.
