John 16:5-15 - Jesus' Departure And The Coming Of The Holy Spirit
5 But now I am going away to him that sent me; and none of you asketh me, Whither art thou going? 6 But because I have spoken these things to you, sorrow hath filled your heart. 7 Yet I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I went not away, the Comforter would not come to you; but if I go, I will send him unto you. 8 And when he cometh, he will convince the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment: 9 of sin first, because they believe not in me; 10 then of righteousness, because I am going to the Father, so ye see me no more; 11 and of judgment, because the ruler of this world hath sentence pronounced on him.
12 I have many things to say to you, but ye cannot bear them just now. 13 But when he is come, the Spirit of truth, he will conduct you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever things he shall hear, he shall speak: and he will declare to you the things that shall come hereafter. 14 He shall glorify me: for he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you. 15 All things whatsoever the Father hath are mine: therefore I said, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
