1 Corinthians 13:1-13 - Love, The More Excellent Way

¹ If I speak with tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass, or a clanging cymbal. ² And, if I have the gift of prophecy, and know all the mysteries and all knowledge; and, if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing, ³ And, if I bestow in morsels all my goods; and, if I give my body to he burned, but have not love, I am profited nothing. ⁴ Love suffers long, is kind; love envies not; love vaunts not herself, is not puffed up, ⁵ behaves not unseemly, seeks not her own, is not provoked, takes no account of evil, ⁶ rejoices not at unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; ⁷ bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

⁸ Love never fails; but whether there be prophecies, they will be done away; whether there be tongues, they will cease; whether there be knowledge, it will be done away. ⁹ For we know in part, and we prophesy in part; ¹⁰ but, when the complete comes, the partial will be done away. ¹¹ When I was a child, I was wont to talk as a child, to think as a child, to reason as a child; since I have become a man, I have done away with the things of the child; ¹² for now we see through a mirror, obscurely; but then, face to face; now I know in part, but then I shall fully know, even as I also was fully known. ¹³ But now abides faith, hope, love; these three; and the greatest of these is love.
