Acts 18:1-11 - Paul, Silas, And Timothy In Corinth

1 After this Paul left Athens and went to Corinth. 2 Here he found a certain Jew named Aquila, a native of Pontus, who had recently come from Italy with his wife, Priscilla, because Claudius had ordered all Jews to leave Rome. 3 Paul came to them, and because he was of the same trade with them, he lodged with them, and worked with them??or by trade they were tentmakers. 4 Every Sabbath he used to preach in the synagogue, and tried to persuade both Jews and Greeks.

5 And when Silas and Timothy arrived from Macedonia, Paul was engrossed in his message, earnestly testifying to the Jews that Jesus was the Messiah. 6 But as they opposed him and abused him, he shook out his garments in protest, and said: "Your blood be upon your own hands. I am clean. From now on I will go to the Gentiles." 7 So he left the place, and went into the house of a man named Titus Justus, a worshiper of God, whose house adjoined the synagogue. 8 And Crispus, the warden of the synagogue, believed on the Lord, with all his household; and many of the Corinthians from time to time listened, believed, and were baptized.

9 And the Lord said to Paul in a vision, by night. "Have no fear; go on speaking, and do not keep silent; 10 "for I am with you, and no one shall set upon you to injure you; for I have very many people in this city." 11 So he lived there a year and six months and continued to teach them the word of God.
