Luke 9:18-20 - Peter's Confession

¹⁸ And it came to pass, as He was praying alone, the disciples were with Him, and He asked them, saying, "Who do the multitudes say that I am?"

¹⁹ And they, answering, said, 'John the Immerser;' and others, 'Elijah;' and others, 'that a certain prophet of the ancients arose.'

²⁰ And He said to them, "But who say ye that I am?" And Peter, answering, said, "The Christ of God."

⁶⁶ From this time many of His disciples went back, and walked no more with Him. ⁶⁷ Jesus, therefore, said to the twelve, "Do ye also wish to go away?"

⁶⁸ Simon Peter answered Him, "Lord, to whom shall we go? Thou hast words of eternal life. ⁶⁹ And we have believed and know, that Thou art the Holy One of God."

⁷⁰ Jesus answered them, "Did I not choose you, the twelve, and one of you is a devil?" ⁷¹ But He was speaking of Judas, son of Simon Iscariot; for he was about to betray Him, being one of the twelve.
