Proverbs 1:1-7 - Prologue

Proverbs 1:1-7

1 Proverbs of Solomon, son of David, king of Israel: 2 to know wisdom and instruction; to discern the words of understanding; 3 to receive the instruction of wisdom, righteousness and judgment, and equity; 4 to give prudence to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion. 5 He that is wise will hear, and will increase learning; and the intelligent will gain wise counsels: 6 to understand a proverb and an allegory, the words of the wise and their enigmas.

7 The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of knowledge: fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Ecclesiastes 1:1-1

1 The words of the Preacher, the son of David, king in Jerusalem.

1 John 1:1-4

1 That which was from the beginning, that which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes; that which we contemplated, and our hands handled, concerning the word of life; 2 (and the life has been manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and report to you the eternal life, which was with the Father, and has been manifested to us:) 3 that which we have seen and heard we report to you, that ye also may have fellowship with us; and our fellowship is indeed with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. 4 And these things write we to you that your joy may be full.

Revelation 1:1-3

1 Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave to him, to shew to his bondmen what must shortly take place; and he signified it, sending by his angel, to his bondman John, 2 who testified the word of God, and the testimony of Jesus Christ, all things that he saw. 3 Blessed is he that reads, and they that hear the words of the prophecy, and keep the things written in it; for the time is near.
