Matthew 4:12-17 - Public Ministry In Galilee

¹² But when Jesus heard that John was cast into prison, he retired into Galilee; ¹³ and leaving Nazareth, he came and resided at Capernaum, a maritime city, on the confines of Zebulun and Nephthali: ¹⁴ that what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled, saying,

¹⁵ "The land of Zabulun, and the land of Naphthali, the road to the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles; ¹⁶ the people who sat in darkness saw a great light; and on those who sat in the region and shadow of death, even on them hath the light arisen."

¹⁷ From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is approaching.

¹⁴ But after John was delivered up, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God: ¹⁵ and saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God draweth nigh: repent, and believe the gospel.

¹⁴ And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and a report went out into all the region round about concerning him. ¹⁵ And he taught in their synagogues, being universally admired.
