Matthew 4:12-17 - Public Ministry In Galilee

¹² Now when Jesus heard that John had been arrested, he went back to Galilee. ¹³ He left Nazareth and settled in Capernaum by the sea, in the regions of Zebulun and Naphtali, ¹⁴ in order to fulfill what was declared by the prophet Isaiah when he said,

¹⁵ "O Land of Zebulun and Land of Naphtali, on the road to the sea, across the Jordan, Galilee of the unbelievers! ¹⁶ The people living in darkness have seen a great light, and for those living in the land and shadow of death, a light has risen."

¹⁷ From then on, Jesus began to announce, "Repent, because the kingdom from heaven is near!"

¹⁴ Now after John had been arrested, Jesus went to Galilee and proclaimed the gospel about the kingdom of God. ¹⁵ He said, "The time is now! The kingdom of God is near! Repent, and keep believing the gospel!"

¹⁴ Then Jesus returned to Galilee by the power of the Spirit. Meanwhile, the news about him spread throughout the surrounding country. ¹⁵ He began to teach in their synagogues and was continuously receiving praise from everyone.
