1 Chronicles 1:17-29 - Shem's Descendants

¹⁷ Shem's descendants were Elam, Asshur, Arpachshad, Lud, Aram, Uz, Hul, Gether, and Meshech. ¹⁸ Arpachshad fathered Shelah and Shelah fathered Eber. ¹⁹ Eber fathered two sons. The name of the one was Peleg (because the earth was divided during his lifetime) and his brother was named Joktan. ²⁰ Joktan fathered Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah, ²¹ Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah, ²² Ebal, Abimael, Sheba, ²³ Ophir, Havilah, and Jobab all of these were Joktan's descendants.

²⁴ In summary, Shem fathered Arpachshad, who fathered Shelah, ²⁵ who fathered Eber, who fathered Peleg, who fathered Reu, ²⁶ who fathered Serug, who fathered Nahor, who fathered Terah, ²⁷ who fathered Abram that is, Abraham.

²⁸ Abraham's descendants were Isaac and Ishmael.
