Acts 7:54-60 - Stephen's Martyrdom

⁵⁴ When they heard that, they were enraged and ground their teeth at him. ⁵⁵ But he, full of the holy Spirit, looked up to heaven and saw God's glory and Jesus standing at God's right hand. ⁵⁶ And he said, "Look! I can see heaven open, and the Son of Man standing at God's right hand!"

⁵⁷ But they uttered a great shout and stopped their ears, and they rushed upon him all together, ⁵⁸ and dragged him out of the city and stoned him, the witnesses throwing down their clothes at the feet of a young man named Saul. ⁵⁹ As they stoned Stephen, he prayed, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit!" ⁶⁰ Then falling on his knees, he cried out, "Lord, do not lay this sin up against them!" With these words he fell asleep.
