Matthew 3:13-17 - The Baptism Of Jesus

Matthew 3:13-17

13 Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan River to be baptized by John. 14 I need to be baptized by you, John said. Why are you coming to me?

15 Jesus answered emphatically: This is the proper way to do everything that God requires. This is the way it must be!

16 Then Jesus was baptized and came up from the water. Suddenly the heavens were opened. He saw God's Spirit coming down like a dove. 17 Then a voice from heaven said: This is my Son whom I love and whom I have approved.

Mark 1:9-11

9 Soon Jesus came from Nazareth in the province of Galilee. John baptized Jesus in the Jordan River. 10 When Jesus came out of the water he saw the heavens open and the Spirit descended on him like a dove. 11 Then a voice came from heaven: You are my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased.

Luke 3:21-22

21 When all the people were baptized, Jesus also was baptized. He prayed and heaven was opened. 22 Holy Spirit descended upon him in a bodily form like a dove. A voice came out of heaven. He said: You are my beloved Son. In you I am well pleased.
