Matthew 3:13-17 - The Baptism Of Jesus

Matthew 3:13-17

13 Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized by him: but John refused Him, saying, 14 I have need to be baptized by thee, and comest thou to me?

15 And Jesus answering said unto him, Permit it now; for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness.

16 Then he permitted Him. And Jesus as soon as He was baptized came up from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened unto Him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and coming upon Him: 17 and lo, a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

Mark 1:9-11

9 And in those days Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized by John in Jordan: 10 and as soon as He came up from the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon Him. 11 And there was a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

Luke 3:21-22

21 Now, when all the people were baptized, and Jesus was baptized and praying, 22 the heaven was opened, and the holy Spirit descended in a corporeal form, like a dove upon Him, and there came a voice from heaven saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in thee I am well pleased.
