Luke 14:7-11 - The Parable Of The Guests At The Wedding Feast

7 He put forth a similitude to the guests, when he marked how they pressed to the highest rooms, and said unto them, 8 "When thou art bidden to a wedding of any man, sit not down in the highest room, lest a more honorable man than thou be bidden of him, 9 and he that bade both him and thee, come and say to thee, 'Give this man room.' And thou then begin with shame to take the lowest room.

10 But rather, when thou art bidden, go and sit in the lowest room, that when he that bade thee cometh, he may say unto thee, 'Friend, sit up higher.' Then shalt thou have worship in the presence of them that sit at meat with thee. 11 For whosoever exalteth himself, shall be brought low. And he that humbleth himself, shall be exalted."
