John 16:4-15 - The Work Of The Holy Spirit

⁴ But these things I have told you, that, when the time has come, you may remember that I told you of them. But these things I did not tell you at the beginning, because I was with you.

⁵ And now I go to him that sent me, and no one of you asks me, "Whither goest thou? ⁶ But because I have spoken these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart. ⁷ But yet I tell you the truth: it is profitable for you that I go away. For if I go not away, the Paraclete will not come to you. But if I go away, I will send him to you. ⁸ And when he has come, he will convince the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment. ⁹ Of sin, because they believe not on me; ¹⁰ of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and you see me no more; ¹¹ of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.

¹² I have yet many things to say to you; but you can not bear them now. ¹³ But when he, the Spirit of the truth, has come, he will guide you into all the truth; for he will not speak of himself; but what he hears, that will he speak, and he will show you things to come. ¹⁴ He will glorify me; for he will take of mine, and show it to you. ¹⁵ All things that the Father has are mine; for this reason I said, that he will take of mine, and show it to you.
