Mark 12:38-40 - Warning To Beware Of The Scribes

Mark 12:38-40

38 And he said unto them in his doctrine, "Beware of the scribes which love to go in long clothing, and love salutations in the market places, 39 and the chief seats in the synagogues, and to sit in the uppermost rooms at feasts, 40 and devour widows' houses: and that, under a colour of long praying. These shall receive greater damnation."

Luke 20:45-47

45 Then in the audience of all the people, he said unto his disciples, 46 "Beware of the scribes, which desire to go in long clothing: and love greetings in the markets, and the highest seats in the synagogues, and chief rooms at feasts, 47 which devour widows' houses, and that under a colour of long praying: The same shall receive greater damnation."
