Proverbs 16:25-Proverbs 17:6 - Words Of Advice To A Wise Son
25 There is a way that seems right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
26 The soul of him that labours, labours for himself; for his mouth craves it of him.
27 The man of Belial digs in search of evil, and in his lips there is as a burning fire.
28 The perverse man sows strife, and the tale bearer separates princes.
29 The evil man flatters his neighbour and leads him into the way that is not good.
30 He shuts his eyes to devise perverse things; moving his lips he brings evil to pass.
31 Old age is a crown of glory if it is found in the way of righteousness.
32 He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he that rules his spirit than he that takes a city.
33 The lot is cast into the lap, but the judgment thereof is of the LORD.
1 Better is a dry morsel in peace than the house of contention full of sacrifices for a feast.
2 A prudent slave shall have rule over a son that causes shame and shall have part of the inheritance among the brethren.
3 The fining pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold, but the LORD tries the hearts.
4 An evil doer gives heed to false lips, and a liar gives ear to the tongue which curses.
5 Whosoever mocks the poor reproaches his Maker, and he that is glad regarding the calamity of someone else shall not go unpunished.
6 Children's children are the crown of old men, and the honour of the children are their fathers.
