Abih'il
1. Daughter of Eliab, and wife of Rehoboam, king of Judah. 2Ch 11:18.
2. Father of Zuriel, chief of the Levitical family of Merari. Nu 3:35.
3. Wife of Abishur. 1Ch 2:29.
4. Son of Huri, of the family of Gad. 1Ch 5:14.
5. Father of queen Esther, and uncle of Mordecai. Es 2:15; 9:29
Now the leader of the clan of the families of Merari was Zuriel son of Abihail. These were to camp on the north side of the tabernacle.
These were the sons of Abihail son of Huri, son of Jaroah, son of Gilead, son of Michael, son of Jeshishai, son of Jahdo, son of Buz.
Rehoboam married Mahalath the daughter of David's son Jerimoth and of Abihail, the daughter of Jesse's son Eliab.
When it became the turn of Esther daughter of Abihail the uncle of Mordecai (who had raised her as if she were his own daughter) to go to the king, she did not request anything except what Hegai the king's eunuch, who was overseer of the women, had recommended. Yet Esther met with the approval of all who saw her.
So Queen Esther, the daughter of Abihail, and Mordecai the Jew wrote with full authority to confirm this second letter about Purim.
