(Arabic "miracle of God".) One of Ishmael's 12 sons, and founder of an Arab tribe (Ge 25:13; 1Ch 1:29).

The third son of Ishmael (Ge 25:13; 1Ch 1:29), eponym of the N. Arabic tribe, which appears in cuneiform inscrip. as Idiba'il or Idibi'al, and which had its settlements S.W. of the Dead Sea.

Ad'beel

Son of Ishmael and one of the "twelve princes according to their generations." Ge 25:13; 1Ch 1:29. There is no trace of a nation bearing this name, nor of any place named after him.

Ad'be-el

(offspring of God), a son of Ishmael,

and probably the progenitor of an Arab tribe. (B.C. about 1850.)
