(1.) One of the nine sons of Becher, the son of Benjamin (1Ch 7:8).

(2.) One of the sons of Jehoadah, or Jarah, son of Ahaz (1Ch 8:36).

(3.) A sacerdotal city of Benjamin (1Ch 6:60), called also Almon (Jos 21:18), now Almit, a mile north-east of the ancient Anathoth.

ALEMETH or ALMON. A priests' city in Benjamin (1Ch 6:60; Jos 21:18). Now Almit, a mile N.E. of Anata, the ancient Anathoth.

1. Benjamite city assigned to the priests. 1Ch 6:60. Called ALMON in Jos 21:18. Identified with Almit, 31 49' N, 35 16' E.

2. Descendant of Jonathan, son of Saul. 1Ch 8:36; 9:42.
