High places, Eze 20:29. Bamoth-baal was a station of the Hebrews, in the border of Moab, Nu 21:20; 22:41; afterwards assigned to the tribe of Reuben, Jos 13:17. Baal was worshipped there, and it was perhaps the "high places" referred to in Isa 15:2. See HIGH PLACES.
And from Bamoth in the valley, that is in the country of Moab, to the top of Pisgah, which looketh toward Jeshimon.
And it came to pass on the morrow, that Balak took Balaam, and brought him up into the high places of Baal, that thence he might see the utmost part of the people.
Heshbon, and all her cities that are in the plain; Dibon, and Bamothbaal, and Bethbaalmeon,
He is gone up to Bajith, and to Dibon, the high places, to weep: Moab shall howl over Nebo, and over Medeba: on all their heads shall be baldness, and every beard cut off.
Then I said unto them, What is the high place whereunto ye go? And the name thereof is called Bamah unto this day.
