a subterranean vault (1Ch 27:28), a storehouse. The word is also used to denote the treasury of the temple (1Ki 7:51) and of the king (1Ki 14:26). The Hebrew word is rendered "garner" in Joe 1:17, and "armoury" in Jer 50:25.
Thus all the work that King Solomon performed in the house of the LORD was finished And Solomon brought in the things dedicated by his father David, the silver and the gold and the utensils, and he put them in the treasuries of the house of the LORD.
He took away the treasures of the house of the LORD and the treasures of the king's house, and he took everything, even taking all the shields of gold which Solomon had made.
