and seeing some of his disciples eating bread with defiled, that is, unwashed hands,

then the Pharisees and scribes ask him, Why do not thy disciples walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with defiled hands?

But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten anything common and unclean. And a voice came to him again, the second time, That which God hath cleansed, call not thou common.

I know, and am persuaded in the Lord Jesus, that nothing is unclean in itself; but to him that accounteth anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean.
