Reference: Convenient

Hastings

This Eng. word often has in AV its primary meaning of befitting, as Ro 1:28 'God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient' (RV 'fitting'). So in the trans. of Agrippa's Van Artes (1684) 'She sang and danc'd more exquisitely than was convenient for an honest woman.'
