De'uel, or De-u'el
(invocation of God), father of Eliasaph, the "captain" of the tribe of Gad at the time of the numbering of the people at Sinai.
(B.C. 1491.) The same man is mentioned again in
but here the name appears as Ruel.
Next will be the tribe of Gad. The leader of the people of Gad is Eliasaph son of Deuel.
On the sixth day Eliasaph son of Deuel, leader of the Gadites, presented an offering.
and for the sacrifice of peace offerings: two bulls, five rams, five male goats, and five lambs in their first year. This was the offering of Eliasaph son of Deuel.
