Inhabitants of Elam, some of whom were located in Palestine. Ezr 4:9. Some of the same name, 550 years after, were present at Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost, but these were doubtless Jews from Elam. Ac 2:9.
The Elamites were the original inhabitants of the country called Elam; they were descendants of Shem, and perhaps drew their name from an actual man Elam.
