Identical with the Gilgal of Jos 15:7, and possibly with the Bath-gilgal of Ne 12:29. It was a place on the border of Benjamin and Judah near the Ascent of Adummim. This last was probably in the neighbourhood of Tal' at ed-dum, a hill near the so-called 'Inn of the Good Samaritan' on the carriage road to Jericho. The word gel

The border went up to Debir from the valley of Achor, and turned northward toward Gilgal which is opposite the ascent of Adummim, which is on the south of the valley; and the border continued to the waters of En-shemesh and it ended at En-rogel.
