Easton
height. (1.) A town in the plain of Judah (Jos 15:35), originally the residence of one of the Canaanitish kings (Jos 10:3,5,23). It has been identified with the modern Yarmuk, a village about 7 miles north-east of Beit-Jibrin.
(2.) A Levitical city of the tribe of Issachar (Jos 21:29), supposed by some to be the Ramah of Samuel (1Sa 19:22).

So King Adoni-zedek of Jerusalem sent word to King Hoham of Hebron, King Piram of Jarmuth, King Japhia of Lachish, and King Debir of Eglon. He told them,
So the five kings of the Amorites the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, and the king of Eglon gathered their armies together and advanced with all of their armies toward Gideon, camped there, and laid siege to it.
So they did. They brought out these five kings to him from within the cave: the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, and the king of Eglon.
Jarmuth with its pasture lands, and En-gannim with its pasture lands, for a total of four cities.
Then Saul himself went to Ramah, and he arrived at the large well that is in Secu. He asked, "Where are Samuel and David?"
Fausets
1. A town in the shephelah or low hills (not "the plain ") of Judah (Jos 15:35). Piram its king was one of the five confederated to punish Gibeon for submitting to Joshua (Jos 10:3,5); routed at Beth-horon; executed at Makkedah (Jos 10:23). Occupied by children of Judah on the return from Babylon (Ne 11:29). Now Yarmuk, with a hill near, Tell Urmud.
2. A city of Issachar, assigned to the Gershonite Levites. (Jos 21:29). REMETH in Jos 19:20; RAMOTH in 1Ch 6:73. Both are modifications of the same root as Jarmuth.

1. A town in the low country of Judah.
Its king, Piram, was one of the five who conspired. to punish Gibeon for having made alliance with Israel,
and who were routed at Beth-horon and put to death by Joshua at Makkedah. ver. 33. Its site is probably the modern Yarmuk.
2. A city of Issachar allotted with its suburbs to the Gershonite Levites.
