(3.) A Korhite of the family of Ebiasaph, and one of the gate-keepers to the temple (1Ch 26:2).

But Jediael may have been a later descendant from Benjamin who, by superior fruitfulness of his house, superseded an elder branch (Ashbel's) whose issue failed.

but this is not certain.
