The name of one of the twenty-four courses of priests; first in David's time (1Ch 24:7), but seventeenth in the time of Zerub. (Ne 12:6) and of the high priest Joiakim (Ne 12:19). The name is omitted, probably by accident, in the list of the priests that 'sealed to the covenant' (Ne 10). The clan is mentioned among those that dwelt in Jerusalem in the time of Nehemiah (Ne 11:10).
