A city in the S. border of Judah, next Edom (Jos 15:22). A Kenite settlement made directly after the fall of Jericho (Jg 1:16). E. Wilton (Imperial Dictionary) would read for "Eder, and Jagur, and Kinah" "Arad and Hazor Kinah"; compare Septuagint, "Ara and Asor and Kinah." Some must be compound names, otherwise the list would exceed the number specified in Jos 15:32.
