And Abraham said of Sarah his wife, She is my sister: and Abimelech king of Gerar sent, and took Sarah. But God came to Abimelech in a dream by night, and said to him, Behold, you are but a dead man, for the woman that you have taken; for she is a man's wife. read more. Said he not unto me, She is my sister? and she, even she herself said, He is my brother: in the integrity of my heart and innocence of my hands have I done this. Therefore Abimelech rose early in the morning, and called all his servants, and told all these things in their ears: and the men were much afraid. Then Abimelech called Abraham, and said unto him, What have you done unto us? and how have I offended you, that you have brought on me and on my kingdom a great sin? you have done deeds unto me that ought not to be done. And Abimelech said unto Abraham, What was your thinking, that you have done this thing? And Abraham said, Because I thought, Surely the fear of God is not in this place; and they will slay me for my wife's sake. And yet indeed she is my sister; she is the daughter of my father, but not the daughter of my mother; and she became my wife. And it came to pass, when God caused me to wander from my father's house, that I said unto her, This is your kindness which you shall show unto me; at every place where we shall come, say of me, He is my brother. And Abimelech took sheep, and oxen, and menservants, and womenservants, and gave them unto Abraham, and restored to him Sarah his wife. And Abimelech said, Behold, my land is before you: dwell where it pleases you. And unto Sarah he said, Behold, I have given your brother a thousand pieces of silver: behold, he is to you a vindication of the eyes, unto all that are with you, and with all others: thus she was righted.
You shall not raise a false report: put not your hand with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness.
If a soul sins, and commits a trespass against the LORD, and lies unto his neighbor in that which was delivered him to keep, or in fellowship, or in a thing taken away by violence, or has deceived his neighbor;
You shall not steal, neither deal falsely, neither lie one to another.
God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: has he said, and shall he not do it? or has he spoken, and shall he not make it good?
If a false witness rises up against any man to testify against him that which is wrong; Then both the men, between whom the controversy is, shall stand before the LORD, before the priests and the judges, who shall be in those days; read more. And the judges shall make diligent inquiry: and, behold, if the witness is a false witness, and has testified falsely against his brother; Then shall you do unto him, as he had thought to have done unto his brother: so shall you put the evil away from among you. Is it a time to receive money, and to receive garments, and oliveyards, and vineyards, and sheep, and oxen, and menservants, and maidservants? The leprosy therefore of Naaman shall cling unto you, and unto your descendants forever. And he went out from his presence a leper as white as snow.
He that has clean hands, and a pure heart; who has not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.
I have hated them that regard vain idols: but I trust in the LORD.
Behold, you desire truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part you shall make me to know wisdom.
Once have I sworn by my holiness that I will not lie unto David.

The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their own power; and my people love to have it so: and what will you do in the end?
For from the least of them even unto the greatest of them everyone is given to covetousness; and from the prophet even unto the priest everyone deals falsely.
O LORD, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the nations shall come unto you from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things in which there is no profit.
For they prophesy falsely unto you in my name: I have not sent them, says the LORD.
They have seen vanity and lying divination, saying, The LORD says: and the LORD has not sent them: and they have made others to hope that they would confirm the word.
I the LORD have spoken it: it shall come to pass, and I will do it; I will not go back, neither will I spare, neither will I relent; according to your ways, and according to your doings, shall they judge you, says the Lord GOD.
Woe unto them! for they have fled from me: destruction unto them! because they have transgressed against me: though I have redeemed them, yet they have spoken lies against me.

They that regard vain idols forsake their own mercy.
Shall I count those pure with the wicked balances, and with the bag of deceitful weights?
For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore you sons of Jacob are not consumed.
You are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father you will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
Sanctify them through your truth: your word is truth.
But Peter said, Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit, and to keep back part of the price of the land?
Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
And that you put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
Lie not one to another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his deeds;
If we believe not, yet he abides faithful: he cannot deny himself.
In hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised before the ages began;
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
Who is a liar but he that denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denies the Father and the Son.
And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, who deceives the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and fornicators, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
And there shall in no way enter into it anything that defiles, neither whatsoever works abomination, or makes a lie: but they who are written in the Lamb's book of life.
