This people draweth nigh to me with their mouths, and honoureth me with the lips, but their heart is far distant from me.

Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have spoken craftily; the poison of asps is under their lips:

In the law it is written, "That with other tongues, and with other lips, will I speak to this people: and even thus will they not attend to me, saith the Lord."

By him therefore let us offer a sacrifice of praise perpetually to God, that is the fruit of our lips confessing his name.
