Maacha'thi Maachathites. Maacha'thites
The inhabitants of Maacah, or Maachah. De 3:14; Jos 12:5; 13/11/type/am'>13:11,13; 2Sa 23:34; 2Ki 25:23; 1Ch 4:19; Jer 40:8.
Jair son of Manasseh took all the region of Argob, that is, Bashan, as far as the border of the Geshurites and the Maacathites, and called it after his own name, Havvoth-jair, so called to this day.
And ruled over Mount Hermon and Salecah and all of Bashan to the boundary of the Geshurites and the Maacathites, and over half of Gilead to the boundary of Sihon king of Heshbon.
And Gilead, and the region of the Geshurites and Maacathites, and all Mount Hermon, and all Bashan to Salecah -- "
Yet the Israelites did not drive out the Geshurites or the Maacathites, but Geshur and Maacath dwell among [them] still.
They went to Gedaliah at Mizpah -- "Ishmael son of Nethaniah, Johanan and Jonathan the sons of Kareah, Seraiah son of Tanhumeth, the sons of Ephai the Netophathite, and Jezaniah the son of the Maacathite, they and their men.
