1. Ne 10:8. The coincidence of names between David's 24 courses, and the signers of Nehemiah's covenants, and the returners with Zerubbabel (Nehemiah 12) implies that these names were applied to the families.

2. 1Ch 24:18.

A priestly family which constituted the 24th course (Ne 10:8; 1Ch 24:18).

Maazi'ah

1. Head of the twenty-fourth course of priests. 1Ch 24:18.

2. Priest who sealed the covenant. Ne 10:8.

Ma-azi'ah

(consolation of Jehovah).

1. One of the priests who signed the covenant with Nehemiah.
