Matithi'ah
(gift of God).
1. A Levite who presided over the offerings made in the pans.
comp. Levi 6:20 ( Levi 6:12 ) etc.
2. One of the Levites appointed by David to minister before the ark in the musical service,
with harps upon Sheminith, comp.
to lead the choir.
3. One of the family of Nebo who had married a foreign wife, in the days of Ezra.
4. Probably a priest, who stood at the right hand of Ezra when he read the law to the people.

A Levite called Mattithiah, the firstborn of Shallum the Korahite, was entrusted with baking the bread.
With them were their relatives second in rank: Zechariah, Jaaziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Benaiah, Maaseiah, Mattithiah, Eliphelehu, Mikneiah, and the gatekeepers Obed-edom and Jeiel.
