1.One of the wives of Ashhur the 'father' of Tekoa (1Ch 4:5 f.). 2. A town of Ephralm (Jos 16:7; called in 1Ch 7:28 Naaran). It is perhaps the ruin el-' Aujeh, 6 miles N. of Jericho.
It went down from Janoah to Ataroth and to Naarah, then reached Jericho and came out at the Jordan.
Their possessions and settlements were Bethel with its towns, and to the east Naaran, and to the west Gezer with its towns, and Shechem with its towns as far as Ayyah with its towns,
