The 'port' of Ne 2:13 is a 'gate,' the same Heb. word being translated' gate' in the same verse. Cf. Prayer Book version of Ps 9:14 'Within the ports of the daughter of Sion.'
I went out at night through the Valley Gate toward the Serpent's Well and the Dung Gate, and I inspected the walls of Jerusalem that had been broken down and its gates that had been destroyed by fire.
so that I may declare all Your praises. I will rejoice in Your salvation within the gates of Daughter Zion.
