beautiful, the wife of Ananias (q.v.). She was a partner in his guilt and also in his punishment (Ac 5:1-11).

("sapphire" or "beautiful".) Three hours only elapsed between Ananias' death and her lie (she being unaware of her husband's doom) and death (Ac 5:1,7-10). (See ANANIAS.)
