This verb, which means to boil, occurs occasionally in AV, especially in the command (Ex 23:18 etc.), 'Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother's milk.' The past tense was sod, as Ge 25:29 'Jacob sod pottage'; and the past part. sodden, as La 4:10 'The hands of the pitiful women have sodden their own children.'
