watchman. (1.) The mother of Jehozabad, who murdered Joash (2Ki 12:21); called also Shimrith, a Moabitess (2Ch 24:26).

2. Father of Jehozabad. Shimrith is given as the mother in 2Ch 24:26. (See SHIMRITH Keil conjectures that Shomer is a transcriber's error from omitting -th, or else that Shomer was grandfather of Jehozabad.
