This word is used in AV in two quite distinct senses. (1) In 2Ki 23:11 a certain chamber, really within the Temple precincts, is said to have been 'in the suburbs' (Heb. parvar, RV 'precincts'). Practically the same original is retained as a proper name

Command the sons of Israel, that they give unto the Levites - out of the inheritance which they possess - cities to dwell in, - pasture land also unto the cities, round about them, shall ye give unto the Levites.
