And Moses will command Eleazar the priest, concerning them, and Joshua, the son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the sons of Israel:

And Moses said unto them, If the children of Gad and the children of Reuben will pass with you over Jordan, every man armed to battle, before the LORD, and the land shall be subdued before you; then ye shall give them the land of Gilead for a possession:

But if they will not pass over with you armed, they shall have possessions among you in the land of Canaan.

And the children of Gad and the children of Reuben answered, saying, As the LORD hath said unto thy servants, so will we do.

We will pass over armed before the LORD into the land of Canaan, that the possession of our inheritance on this side Jordan may be ours.

And Moses will give to them, to the sons of Gad and to the sons of Reuben, and to half the tribe of Manasseh, son of Joseph, the kingdom of Sihon, king of the Amorites, and the kingdom of Og, king of Bashan, the land with its cities in the bounds, the cities of the land round about

And the sons of Gad will build Dibon and Ataroth, and Aroer,

And Nebo, and Baal-Meon (the name being changed), and Shibmah: and they will call by names the names of the cities which they built

And the sons of Machir, the son of Manasseh, will go to Gilead., and take it and drive out the Amorite which is in it

And Moses will give Gilead to Machir, son of Manasseh., and he will dwell in it

And Jair, the son of Manasseh, went, and he will take their villages, and he will call them the villages of Jair.

And Nobah went, and he will take Kenath and its houses, and he will call it Nobah in his name.

These the departure of the sons of Israel who will go from the land of Egypt according to their army by the hand of Moses and Aaron.

And Moses will write their goings out according to their departures by the mouth of Jehovah: and these their departures according to their goings out

And they will remove from Rameses in the first month, in the fifteenth day to the first month: on the morrow of the passover and the sons of Israel went forth with a high hand before the eyes of all the Egyptians.

And the sons of Israel will remove from Rameses, and they will encamp in Succoth.

And they will remove from Succoth, and encamp in Etham, which is in the extremity of the desert

And they will remove from Etham, and dwell upon the mouth of Hiroth, which is before Baal-Zephon: and they will encamp before Migdol.

And they will remove from before Hiroth, and they will pass through the midst of the sea of the desert, and they will go a way of three days in the desert of Etham, and they will encamp in Marah.

And they will remove from Marah and will come to Elim: and in Elim twelve fountains of water, and seventy palm trees; and they will encamp there.

And they will remove from Elim, and encamp by the sea of sedge.

And they will remove from the sea of sedge, and encamp in the desert of Sin.

And they will remove from the desert of Sin, and encamp in Dophkah.

And they will remove from Dophkah, and encamp in Alush.

And they will remove from Alush, and encamp in Rephidim; and no water was there for the people to drink.

And they will remove from Rephidim, and encamp in the desert of Sinai.

And they will remove from the desert of Sinai, and encamp in the Sepulchres of Longing.

And they will remove from the Sepulchres of Longing, and encamp in Hazeroth.

And they will remove from Hazeroth, and encamp in Rithmah. .

And they will remove from Rithmah, and encamp in Rimmon-Parez.

And they will remove from Rimmon-Parez, and encamp in Libnah.

And they will remove from Libnah, and encamp in Rissah.

And they will remove from Rissah, and encamp in Kehelathah.

And they will remove from Kehelathah, and encamp in mount Shapher.

And they will remove from mount Shapher and encamp in Haradah.

And they will remove from Haradah, and encamp in Makheloth.

And they will remove from Makheloth, and encamp in Tahath.

And they will remove from Tahath, and encamp in Tarah.

And they will remove from Tarah, and encamp in Mithcah.

And they will remove from Mithcah, and encamp in Hashmonah.

And they will remove from Hashmonah, and encamp in Moseroth.

And they will remove from Moseroth, and encamp among the sons of Jakan.

And they will remove from the sons of Jakan, and encamp in the mount of Gidgad.

And they will remove from the mount of Gidgad, and encamp in Jotbathah.

And they will remove from Jotbathah, and encamp in Ebionah.

And they will remove from Ebionah, and encamp in Ezion-Gaber.

And they will remove from EzionGaber, and encamp in the desert of Zin; it Kadesh.

And they will remove from Kadesh, and encamp in mount Hor, in the extremity of the land of Edom.

And Aaron the priest will go up to mount Hor by the mouth of Jehovah, and will die there in the fortieth year to the coming out of the sons of Israel from the land of Egypt., in the fifth month, in one to the month.

And the Canaanite, king Arad, will hear, and he will dwell in the south in the land Canaan, in the coming of the sons of Israel.

And they will remove from mount Hor, and encamp in Zalmonah.

And they will remove from Zalmonah, and encamp in Punon.

And they will remove from Pinion, and encamp in Oboth.

And they will remove from Oboth, and encamp in the heaps of Abarim, in the bound of Moab.

And they will remove from the heaps, and encamp in DibonGad.

And they will remove from DibonGad, and encamp in Almon-Diblathaim.

And they will remove from Almon-Diblathaim, and encamp in the mountains of Abarim before Nebo.

And they will remove from the mountains of Abarim, and encamp in the desert of Moab by Jordan of Jericho.

And they will encamp by Jordan, from the house of Jesimoth, to the meadow of acacias in the desert of Moab.

And Jehovah will speak to Moses in the desert of Moab, by Jordan of Jericho, saying,

you will drive out the inhabitants of the land from your presence, and you will destroy all their idols and all the images of their molten idols, and you will demolish all their high places;

you will dispossess the land and live in it because I have given the land to you to possess it.

And you will take up your heritage in the land by the decision of the Lord, to every family its part; the greater the family the greater its heritage, and the smaller the family the smaller will be its heritage; wherever the decision of the Lord gives to any man his part, that will be his; distribution will be made to you by your fathers' tribes.

But if ye will not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you; then it shall come to pass, that those which ye let remain of them shall be pricks in your eyes, and thorns in your sides, and shall vex you in the land wherein ye dwell.

And as I plan to do to them, so I will do to you.’”

And Jehovah will speak to Moses, saying,

“Command the Israelites and say to them: When you enter the land of Canaan, it will be allotted to you as an inheritance with these borders:

Then your south quarter will be from the waste land of Zin by the side of Edom, and your limit on the south will be from the east end of the Salt Sea,

And round to the south of the slope of Akrabbim, and on to Zin: and its direction will be south of Kadesh-barnea, and it will go as far as Hazar-addar and on to Azmon:

And from Azmon it will go round to the stream of Egypt as far as the sea.

And for your limit on the west you will have the Great Sea and its edge: this will be your limit on the west.

And your limit on the north will be the line from the Great Sea to Mount Hor:

And from Mount Hor the line will go in the direction of Hamath; the farthest point of it will be at Zedad:

And the limit will go on to Ziphron, with its farthest point at Hazar-enan: this will be your limit on the north.

And on the east, your limit will be marked out from Hazar-enan to Shepham,

The border will run down from Shepham to Riblah, on the east side of Ain, and the border will descend and reach the eastern side of the Sea of Chinnereth.

And so down to Jordan, stretching to the Salt Sea: all the land inside these limits will be yours.

And Moses will command the sons of Israel, saying, This the land which ye shall inherit it by lot, which Jehovah commanded to give to the nine tribes, and the half tribe.

And Jehovah will speak to Moses, saying,

You will take one leader from every tribe to divide up the land for inheritance.

And Jehovah will speak to Moses in the desert of Moab by Jordan of Jericho, saying,

"Instruct the Israelites to give the Levites towns to live in from the inheritance the Israelites will possess. You must also give the Levites grazing land around the towns.

Thus they will have towns in which to live, and their grazing lands will be for their cattle, for their possessions, and for all their animals.

The grazing lands around the towns that you will give to the Levites must extend to a distance of 500 yards from the town wall.

The measure of this space of land is to be two thousand cubits outside the town on the east, and two thousand cubits on the south and on the west and on the north, the town being in the middle. This space will be the outskirts of their towns.

Now from these towns that you will give to the Levites you must select six towns of refuge to which a person who has killed someone may flee. And you must give them forty-two other towns.

"So the total of the towns you will give the Levites is forty-eight. You must give these together with their grazing lands.

And the cities which ye shall give shall be of the possession of the children of Israel: from them that have much ye shall take much, and from them that have little ye shall take little; each one according to his inheritance which he will inherit shall give of his cities to the Levites.

And Jehovah will speak to Moses, saying,

you will select for yourselves cities for your cities of refuge, that a killer who has killed a person unintentionally can flee there.

The cities shall be to you as a refuge from the avenger, so that the manslayer will not die until he stands before the congregation for trial.

Six of the towns which you give will be such safe places;

You will give three cities across the Jordan and three cities in the land of Canaan; they will be cities of refuge.

These six towns will be places of refuge for the Israelites, and for the foreigner, and for the settler among them, so that anyone who kills any person accidentally may flee there.

If he struck him down with a stone in the hand, by which he will die, and as a result he died, he is a murderer; the murderer shall surely be put to death.

Or if he hit him with a wooden object, by which he will die, and he does die, he [is] a killer; the killer must surely be put to death.

The blood avenger himself will put the killer to death; he must put him to death when meeting him.

Or in enmity he smote with his hand, and he will die; dying, he smiting shall die; he is a slayer: the nearest relative of blood shall kill the slayer in his meeting him.

Or with any stone which he shall die by it in not seeing, and it will fall upon him and he shall die, and he not an enemy to him and not seeking his hurt:

then the community will judge between the striker and between the blood avenger according to these ordinances.
