When they had mocked
When He was in Galilee,
Pilate was surprised that He was already dead. Summoning the centurion, he asked him whether He had already died.
Looking up, they observed that the stone—which was very large—had been rolled away.

and also some women who had been healed of evil spirits and sicknesses:
When He got out on land, a demon-possessed man from the town met Him. For a long time he had worn no clothes and did not stay in a house but in the tombs.
For He had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. Many times it had seized him, and though he was guarded, bound by chains and shackles, he would snap the restraints and be driven by the demon into deserted places.

When the men who tended them saw what had happened, they ran off and reported it in the town and in the countryside.

So they went and found it just as He had told them,

Then the Lord turned and looked at Peter.
Herod was very glad to see Jesus; for a long time he had wanted to see Him because he had heard about Him and was hoping to see some miracle
That very day Herod and Pilate became friends.
(He had been thrown into prison for a rebellion that had taken place in the city, and for murder.)
and released the one they were asking for, who had been thrown into prison for rebellion and murder. But he handed Jesus over to their will.

Now six stone water jars had been set there for Jewish purification.
