And Paul said, "I am standing at Caesar's judgment-seat, where I ought to be judged. To the Jews I have done no wrong, as you also very well know.

If, therefore, I am a wrong-doer, and have perpetrated anything worthy of death, I refuse not to die; but, if there is nothing in the things of which these accuse me, no one can deliver me as a favor to them. I appeal to Caesar."

Then Festus, having consulted with the council, answered, To Caesar you have appealed; to Caesar you shall go."

concerning whom I have nothing certain to write to my lord. Wherefore, I brought him forth before you, and especially before you, King Agrippa, in order that, when the examination has taken place, I may have something to write;

And now, for the hope of the promise made by God to our fathers, I have taken my stand to be judged;

which also I did in Jerusalem; and many of the saints also did I shut up in prison, having received authority from the high priests; and, when they were being put to death, I have given a vote against them;

to open their eyes, that they may turn from darkness to light, and from the dominion of Satan to God, that they may receive remission of sins, and an inheritance among those who have been sanctified by faith in Me.'

Having, therefore, obtained help from God, I have stood to this day, testifying both to small and great, saying nothing, except those things which both the prophets and Moses said would come to pass;

And Agrippa said to Festus, "This man could have been set at liberty, had he not appealed to Caesar."

And, after long abstinence from food, then Paul, standing up in the midst of them, said, "Ye ought, indeed, O men, hearkening to me, not to have set sail from Crete, and to have incurred this violence and loss.

But, when the Jews spake against it, I was compelled to appeal to Caesar; not that I have anything of which to accuse my nation.

And I do not wish you to be ignorant, brethren, that oftentimes I purposed to come to you (and was hindered hitherto), that I might have some fruit in you also, even as in the rest of the gentiles.

(for, when gentiles who have no law do by nature the things of the law, these, having no law, are a law to themselves;

and have become confident that you are a guide of the blind, a light to those in darkness,

they have all turned aside, they together became unprofitable; there is none that does good, there is not so much as one;

and the ways of peace have they not known;

(as it has been written, "A father of many nations have I made you"), before God Whom he believed, Who maketh alive the dead, and calleth the things that are not, as though they were;

Having been justified, therefore, by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

through Whom also we have had access by faith into this grace in which we have been standing; and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

For, if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, we shall be also in the likeness of His resurrection;

For sin shall not have dominion over you; for ye are not under law, but under grace.

But now, having been made free from sin, and having been made slaves to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end eternal life;

But now we have been fully discharged from the law, having died to that in which we were held; so that we serve in newness of spirit, and not in oldness of the letter.

and, not only so, but ourselves also, who have the first fruit of the Spirit, even we ourselves are groaning within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body.

I am speaking a truth in Christ?? am not lying, my conscience testifying with me in the Holy Spirit??2 that I have great sorrow and unceasing pain in my heart

For the word of the promise is this: "At this season I will come, and Sarah shall have a son."

For He saith to Moses, "I will have mercy on whomsoever I have mercy; and I will have compassion on whomsoever I have compassion."

And, as Isaiah has said before: "Unless the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed, we would have become as Sodom, and been made like to Gomorrah."

For I testify for them, that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge;

"Lord, they have killed Thy prophets, they have digged down Thy altars; and I am left alone, and they are seeking my soul."

But what says the answer of God to him? "I left for Myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to Baal."

Well; by their unbelief they were broken off, but you have been standing by faith. Do not cherish lofty thoughts; but fear.

For God shut up all unto disobedience, that He might have mercy on all.

For even as we have many members in one body, and all the members have not the same office;

Let every soul be in subjection to the authorities that are over him; for there is no authority, except from God; and the authorities that are have been appointed by God.

for rulers are not a terror to the good work, but to the evil. And do you wish not to fear the authority? Do that which is good, and you shall have praise from the same;

I know, and have been persuaded in the Lord Jesus, that nothing is unclean of itself: except that to him who accounts anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean.

The faith which you have, have to yourself before God. Happy is he that judges not himself in that which he approves.

For whatsoever things were written in former times were written for our instruction, that we through patience and through consolation of the Scriptures may have hope.

And I myself also have become persuaded of you, my brethren, that ye yourselves also are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish one another.

I have, therefore, my glorying in Christ Jesus as to the things pertaining to God.

in the power of signs and wonders, in the power of the Holy Spirit; so that from Jerusalem and around as far as Illyricum, I have fully dispensed the Gospel of Christ;

but, as it has been written, "Those shall see, to whom nothing was announced concerning Him; and those who have not heard shall understand."

whensoever I go to Spain (for I am hoping, in passing through, to see you, and to be sent on my way thither by you, if first I have been satisfied, in a measure, with your company);

that ye receive her in the Lord, worthily of the saints, and assist her in whatever matter she may have need of you; for she herself became a helper of many, and of myself.

Salute Andronicus and Junias, my kinsmen, and my fellow-prisoners, who, indeed, are of note among the apostles, who have been in Christ longer than I.

which no one of the rulers of this age has known; for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory;

For who knew the mind of the Lord, that he should instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ.

For I am conscious to myself of nothing; yet have I not thereby been justified; but He Who judges me is the Lord.

Wherefore, judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, Who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and make manifest the counsels of the hearts; and then will each one have his praise from God.

Now these things, brethren, I have, in a figure, transferred to myself and Apollos for your sakes; that in us ye may learn not to go beyond the things which have been written; that no one be puffed up for the one against the other.

For who makes you to differ? And what do you have, that you did not receive? But, if you did receive it, why are you boasting, as if you did not receive it?

Have ye already become satisfied? Did ye already become rich? Did ye reign without us? I wish, at least, that ye did reign, that we also might reign with you.

Even until this present hour, we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwelling place;

For, though ye have ten thousand tutors in Christ, yet ye have not many fathers; for in Christ Jesus I begat you through the Gospel.

Actually there is reported among you fornication, and such fornication as exists not even among the gentiles, that one of you should have his father's wife!

And ye have become puffed up, and did not rather mourn, that he who did this deed might be taken away from you.

For I, verily, being absent in the body, but present in the Spirit, have already, as if present, judged him who so wrought this;

For what have I to do with judging those who are without? Do not ye judge those who are within?

If, then, ye have tribunals pertaining to this life, do ye set those to judge who are set at nought in the assembly?

Already, therefore, it is wholly a loss to you, that ye have law-suits one with another! Why not rather suffer wrong? Why not rather be defrauded?

Or know ye not that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, Who is in you, Whom ye have from God, and that ye are not your own?

but, because of fornications, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband.

Defraud not one the other, except by consent for a Season, that ye may have leisure for prayer, and may be together again, that Satan tempt you not because of your incontinency.

But, if they have not continency let them marry; for it is better to marry than to burn.

Now, concerning the virgins, I have no commandment of the Lord; but I give my judgment, as having received mercy from the Lord to be faithful.

Have you become bound to a wife? Seek not a release. Have you been loosed from a wife? seek not a wife.

But, even if you marry, you did not sin; and, if a virgin marry, she did not sin. Yet such will have tribulation in the flesh; and I am sparing you.

But this I say, brethren, the time has been shortened; that henceforth both those who have wives may be as though they had none;

But she is happier, if she abides as she is, according to my judgment; and I think that I also have the Spirit of God.

Now, concerning the things sacrificed to idols, we know because we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up.

For, if anyone sees you, who have knowledge, reclining at table in an idol's temple, will not his conscience, if he is weak, be emboldened to eat the idol-sacrifices?

Am I not free? Am I not an apostle? Have I not seen Jesus our Lord? Are ye not my work in the Lord?

Have we no right to eat, and to drink?

Have we no right to lead about a sister as our wife, even as the rest of the apostles, and the brothers of the Lord, and Cephas?

Or have only I and Barnabas no right to give up working?

But I have used none of these things; and I wrote not these things, that it may be so done in my case; for it were good for me rather to die, than that any one should make my glorying void.

For, if I do this willingly, I have a reward; but, if unwillingly, I have been entrusted with a stewardship.

To the weak I became weak, that I might gain the weak. I have become all things to all men, that I may, by all means, save some.

Now these things were happening to them by way of example; and they were written for our admonition, unto whom the ends of the ages have come.

for this cause ought the woman to have a sign of authority on her head because of the angels.

Does not even nature herself teach, that, if a man have long hair, it is a dishonor to him?

But, if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her; for her hair is given to her for a covering.

But, if any man seems to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the assemblies of God.

What! have ye not houses to eat and to drink in? Or despise ye the assembly of God, and put to shame those who have them not? What shall I say to you? Shall I praise you? In this I praise you not.

And the eye cannot say to the hand, "I have no need of you"; nor again the head to the feet, "I have no need of you."

and those members which we think to be less honorable, upon these we bestow more abundant honor; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness;

but our comely parts have no need. But God attempered the body, giving the more abundant honor to that which lacked;

that there might be no schism in the body, but that the members might have the same care, one for another.

Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret?

If I speak with tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass, or a clanging cymbal.

And, if I have the gift of prophecy, and know all the mysteries and all knowledge; and, if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing,

And, if I bestow in morsels all my goods; and, if I give my body to he burned, but have not love, I am profited nothing.

When I was a child, I was wont to talk as a child, to think as a child, to reason as a child; since I have become a man, I have done away with the things of the child;

Now I make known to you, brethren, the Gospel which I proclaimed to you, which also ye received, in which also ye have been standing;

If in this life only we have hoped in Christ, we are of all men most pitiable!

But now hath Christ been raised from the dead, the First fruit of those who have fallen asleep.

for He put all things in subjection under His feet. But, when He saith, "All things have been put in subjection," it is evident that He is excepted, Who subjected all things to Him.

Daily am I dying, I avow by the glorying in you which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord!

Awake to soberness righteously, and sin not; for some have not a knowledge of God: I say it to your shame!
