... of the children of Israel's half, Moses took one portion of fifty, of man and of cattle, and gave them to the Levites who kept the charge of the tabernacle of Jehovah; as Jehovah had commanded Moses.

But if at any time the one guilty of manslaughter comes outside the border of his city of refuge to which he fled,

and the blood avenger finds him outside the town of refuge where he had fled and kills him, the blood avenger is not to be found guilty of murder.

Because he had been ordered to keep inside the safe town till the death of the high priest: but after the death of the high priest the taker of life may come back to the place of his heritage.

You are not to receive payment of a ransom for someone who had fled to a town of refuge but then left to live in his homeland before the death of the high priest.

Even as Jehovah had commanded Moses, so did the daughters of Zelophehad;

of the kindred of the children of Manasseh the son of Joseph: and so they had their inheritance in the tribe of the kindred of their father.

Then Moses had three towns marked out on the far side of Jordan looking to the east;

so that someone who committed manslaughter could flee there, [that is, a person] who killed his neighbor unintentionally and without previously having hostility toward him, and that by escaping to one of these cities he might [claim the right of asylum and] save his life:

These are the stipulations, statutes, and ordinances that Moses spoke to the Israelites after he had brought them out of Egypt,

On the far side of Jordan, in the valley facing Beth-peor, in the land of Sihon, king of the Amorites, who was ruling in Heshbon, whom Moses and the children of Israel overcame after they had come out of Egypt:

O that their heart had been thus to them, to fear Me, and to keep My commands all the days, that it may be well with them, and with their sons -- to the age!

and us He hath brought out thence, in order to bring us in, to give to us the land which He had sworn to our fathers.

It was not because of the multitude of you, above all nations, that the LORD had lust unto you and chose you: For ye were fewest of all nations.

But because the LORD loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, hath the LORD brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

When I had gone up into the mountain to be given the stones on which was recorded the agreement which the Lord made with you, I was on the mountain for forty days and forty nights without taking food or drinking water.

Then did Yahweh deliver unto me the two tables of stone, written with the finger of God, - and there was upon them, according to all the words which Yahweh had spoken with you in the mountain out of the midst of the fire in the day of the convocation.

And I turned away and came down from the hill - and the hill burnt with fire - and had the two tables of the covenant in my hands.

It was as had been the case with Aaron, the LORD was very angry and about to destroy him, but I prayed for Aaron at that time.

Then shall ye do unto him, as he had thought to have done unto his brother: so shalt thou put the evil away from among you.

then the man who raped her must give 50 shekels of silver to the girl's father. Furthermore, he must marry her. Because he had violated her, he is to not divorce her as long as he lives.
