Upon arriving at the house where they were staying, they went upstairs. [Those present were]: Peter, John, James, Andrew, Philip, Thomas, Bartholomew, Matthew, James, the son of Alpheus, Simon the Zealous [one] and Judas, the son of James. [Note: Judas Iscariot, the twelfth apostle, had already committed suicide].

and Peter having stood up with the eleven, lifted up his voice and declared to them, 'Men, Jews! and all those dwelling in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and harken to my sayings,

Till I put all those who are against you under your feet.

Therefore, let all those who make up the household of Israel [i.e., God's people] know with certainty that God has made this Jesus, whom you have crucified, both Lord and Christ."

Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days.

and those of the circumcision believing were astonished -- as many as came with Peter -- because also upon the nations the gift of the Holy Spirit hath been poured out,

And the apostles and brethren, those being in Judea, heard that the nations also received the word of God.

and when Peter came up to Jerusalem, those of the circumcision were contending with him,

But the voice answered me again from heaven, 'Count not thou those things common, which God hath cleansed.'

Those, indeed, therefore, having been scattered abroad, from the tribulation that came after Stephen, went through unto Phenice, and Cyprus, and Antioch, speaking the word to none except to Jews only;

And the disciples, as any were prospered, determined each of them to send for ministry to those brothers who lived in Judea,

At that time Herod the king laid his hands on some of those of the assembly to do them hurt,

And when he saw that it pleased the Jews, he proceeded to seize Peter also. And those were the days of unleavened bread.
