Then they took away the stone. And Jesus lifted -up his eyes and said: Father, I thank thee, that thou hast heard me.

I know, in deed, that thou dost always hear me. But for the sake of the multitude who stand around me, I have said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me.

Then he came to Simon Peter; and Peter said to him: Lord, dost thou wash my feet?

Peter said to him: Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him: Unless I wash you, you have no part with me.

Simon Peter said to him: Lord, whither goest thou? Jesus answered him: Whither I go, you can not follow me now; but you shall follow me hereafter.

Thomas said to him: Lord, we know not whither thou goest, and how can we know the way?

Judas, not Iscariot, said to him: Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself to us, and not to the world?

His disciples said to him: Lo, now thou speakest plainly, and speakest no parable.

Now we know that thou knowest all things, and hast no need that any one should ask thee. By this we believe that thou hast come forth from God.

Now they know that all things that thou hast given me are from thee;

for the words which thou gavest me I have given them; and they have received them, and they know surely that I came forth from thee, and they believe that thou didst send me.

I pray for them; I pray not for the world, but for them whom thou hast given me; for they are thine.
